Joy Starts Here! Conference

Oct 3, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 AM

Joy Starts Here – With You!

Joy means we are glad to be together. Smiles appear and faces light up. Joy is a high-energy state that, when shared, produces strong bonds and loving relationships. The painful absence of joy leaves us disconnected, dry, even depressed. We crave joy for our relationships. Three ideal windows exist for joy to begin.

Joy at home. With joy, marriages thrive. Couples connect and return to joy. Family members feel seen and valued. When joy levels sink, however, families argue and disconnect. Television and pseudo-joys consume relational space and energy. Marriages crumble. Children cry.

Joy at school. With joy, students belong and blossom. The classroom becomes a safe haven to grow and develop new skills. Teachers and administrators feel refreshed and provide creative opportunities to learn. When joy is missing, however, people wear masks. Bullying spreads. Weaknesses are despised. Addictions flourish.

Joy at church. With joy, church members are glad to be together. Relationships stay bigger than programs, problems and pet peeves. Staff members smile after meetings. People feel connected and bring their friends. Missionaries succeed. The Gospel spreads. When joy levels drop people give up. Wounds fester. Conflicts produce chaos. Hope is crushed. Isolation increases along with guilt. Leaders crash. Observers shake their heads.

Discover the transformation zone where joy grows. Attend Joy Starts Here presented by Life Model Works:

October 3-5, 2013 at

New Life Christian Church (401 Edgewood Court, Morton, Illinois 61550)

This joy-starting event will feature an incredible line-up of speakers who will help you discover how to start joy in your family, church and school.

We highly value our WBNH family.  As you know, this ministry is supported by the gifts, prayers and volunteer efforts of our listeners.  We do not accept any government grants, nor can we sell any advertising.  God has always blessed WBNH, now in our 25th year, by the support we enjoy from our listening family.

So, we want to say “Thank You”!  You and your family are invited to our WBNH Appreciation Cook Out.  On Saturday, October 5, from 11:00am – 1:00pm,  (rain or shine) we will serve you delicious pork chop sandwiches and more!  Come for a free lunch, enjoy some fellowship and tour our facility at 1919 Mayflower Drive, Pekin.  We’ll have some yard games for the young ones (and young at heart!) and plenty of delicious cookout food, served by our great friends at Midwestern Building Supply of Tremont.

Our home is located at the corner of Mayflower Drive and Route 9, just two miles east of Pekin, 3 ½ miles west of Tremont.  Look for the OPEN HOUSE banner and the large tent!

Please RSVP with the number in your party to Nancy at 309/636-8850 or submit via our website by clicking here so we know how much food to prepare.

We hope you can join us!

Life Chain 2013

Oct 6, 2013 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM

The Heart of Illinois Life Chain

Sunday, October 6, 2013

2:30-3:30 p.m.

Sidewalks of University Street in Peoria

We invite all people of good will to join us in prayer at the Heart of Illinois Life Chain on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. along the sidewalk of University Street in Peoria.

Signs are available up to an hour before the Life Chain at the corner of University and Northmoor.

The Heart of Illinois Life Chain is truly a human chain stretching from where abortion deaths occur at 7405 N. University, south on University Street past churches and schools to the Metro Centre, part-owned  (12 ½ percent) by Washington state’s Planned Parenthood, the Northwest’s largest destroyer of life in the womb. Children standing beside their parents in prayer provide strong testimony of family unity to a culture where divisions in the family have become commonplace culminating in the ultimate division and death of abortion. Everyone, young and old, may participate in prayer. If any cannot stand, bring a lawn chair. Our witness is strengthened especially by the weakest among us.

40 Days for Life prayer campaign

Oct 31, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 AM

The 40 Days for Life campaign will be held in Peoria for the sixth time starting Sept. 25 and concluding Nov. 3.
The campaign features 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, as well as community outreach and peaceful witness. Participants maintain a peaceful vigil outside Peoria’s abortion clinic at 7405 N. University St.
Postive results of past campaigns include:
o Each year more people take part on the sidewalk to be a witness for life.
o Churches are brought together in a display of Christian unity and action.
o Lives are saved with a greater witness so that more post-abortive men and women are led to healing.
Those wishing to take part in the vigil can sign up at 40daysforlife.com/peoria by clicking on the “Vigil Schedule” link.
All prayer vigil participants are asked to sign a statement of peace, pledging to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner at all times.
